Prince Accused of Royally Screwing Book People

According to a lawsuit filed yesterday in L.A. County Superior Court, a literary agency claims Prince chose them as his "exclusive agent with respect to the negotiations of a publishing deal" for a book called "21 Nights" and a special limited edition version.

In the documents, the agency claims in the final stages of the deal, Prince stopped calling them back -- and then went behind their back to finish the negotiations -- thus screwing the company out of it's 15% commission.

The agency is now suing for it's 15% -- about $200,000. Practically chump change for the Purple One.

I don't personally know Prince, but it is widely known he sometimes makes business decisions that are not at all rational.

Other times he makes good ones eg: Planet Earth giveaway with the Mail on Sunday, 02 residency.


I have no intention of justifying my posts to you at all. I am a fan, have been since 1983, and spent a hell of a lot of money over the years, however I wouldn't call you a real fan at all, your not objective enough. Your opinion is Prince can do no wrong whatsoever. I would call that almost cult like behaviour.

Prince may well be a genius, BUT IMO some of his decisions are unbelievably naive.

No offence, but I know your wrong when you say that. Just because I don't post negative posts all the time and and go by what the media says in my posts doesn't mean I'm not a real fan.

Quite how you know that, is beyond me, but hey ho.

It's not that you don't post negative input, it's the fact you seem to see Prince with rose tinted glasses.

It is known throughout the Prince community, that Prince, makes some shall we say not normal business decisions, which ultimately he thinks his wealth can avoid any comeback. I do take the view that a number of people who decide they are going to sue Prince, are only trying it on.

I know exactly how MJ fans are, and there is a man, who should really have no fans at all.

I know, because I'm a musician myself and get gossip that's not true all the time, so I know what Prince is goes through.
