PRINCE RIVALRY KEPT JACKSON UP AT NIGHT

MICHAEL JACKSON's longtime pop rivalry with PRINCE was partly to blame for the superstar's death - because he worked himself into the grave to make sure his comeback shows in London were better than anything the PURPLE RAIN hitmaker could produce.
Randy Phillips, the promoter behind the ill-fated comeback shows, has revealed the costs of the This Is It production were spiralling out of control in the weeks leading up to the King of Pop's death in June (09) - because the pop superstar couldn't stop coming up with expensive ideas.

Phillips, the president of promotion firm AEG Live which organised the London concerts, held a meeting with Jackson and his musical director Kenny Ortega and begged the star to stop adding ideas.
He tells Entertainment Weekly magazine that Jackson was worried Prince would get the ideas if he ignored them.

He explains, "We went and met with Michael, and Kenny said, 'Michael, you've got to stop. We've got an incredible show, we don't need any more vignettes.'

"Michael said, 'But Kenny, God channels this through me at night. I can't sleep because I'm so super-charged.'
"Kenny said, 'But Michael, we have to finish. Can't God take a vacation?' Without missing a beat, Michael said, 'You don't understand - if I'm not there to receive these ideas, God might give them to Prince.'"

It wouldn't have mattered if he hadn't died, he would never have completed the 50 shows, and I very much doubt he would have done 4 of them. They had already moved a numer of shows, before he even started.

Every Jacko show would have been identical, at least Prince mixes it up, and you never know what you will get at an aftershow.

How the hell was Prince blamed for his death? He hasn't spoke to MJ's boney ass in since the damn 80's. Plus it's his own damn fault that he took the pills in the first place and I bet when he took them, Prince wasn't even on his mind. Maybe Prince his son, but not the artist. I'm sorry MJ died and is making his early entrance into heaven, but this has gone way too far blaming it on other people especially when there are people that put heavier stress on Michael. It's not Michael's fault anyways. I don't blame him because those 50 shows would of been great anyways. Now I agree that he wouldn't of finished them all because of the unneeded "stress" that was involved in Michael's life, but the show(s) would of been essential anyways. As a singer myself, I always dream of having a successful and creative tour just like Prince's Lovesexy tour which I loved alot. If Michael felt that Prince "stole" his idea's and feared that it wouldn't be 10 times better that him show(s) than he should of stepped up and wrote down some idea's on a more creative and more exciting tour, which it would of been anyways judging by the trailer of This Is It which I might or might not see. It's amazing what a pen and paper can do, Prince does it all the time, but MJ should try at least ONCE, damn it.

God bless the dude, but damn...........why MJ?

Prince Talks About Michael Jackson’s Death (http://www.drfunkenberry.com/2009/10/16/prince-talks-about-michael-jacksons-death/)

In a french interview (http://www.lemonde.fr/culture/article/2009/10/14/prince-j-aime-etre-le-premier-et-le-dernier-a-faire-quelque-chose_1253842_3246.html#xtor=AL-32280184), Prince talked about Michael Jackson and was asked about his death and how he felt about it.
The english translation was posted on Prince.org (http://prince.org/msg/7/321407?&pg=1), a Prince fan web site and here is a few quotes;
“When I played in London in 2007, the O ² Arena, I asked the producers what had been the record number of shows played consecutively in their venue. They said six. I said that I wanted to do twenty-one. During two weeks they refused me, nobody had ever played for so long. All concerts were nevertheless sold out. Since then, Michael Jackson showed me that I should go farther.”
When asked about performing the Jacksons “Shake Your Body Down To The Ground”, Prince added;
“My singer Elisa has the same timbre as Michael when he was young. And a good song is a good song.”
Lastly, the question that many people were wanting to know; How did Prince feel about the death of Michael Jackson?
(Prince, obviously reluctant, does not want to dwell on the subject.) “It is always sad to lose someone you loved.”
Well, there you have it. What do you think of Prince’s comment(s) regarding Michael Jackson?-Dr.FB
