Went to see this yesterday, has some good special effects, storyline is the same as most end of the world (hollywood) movies, and it's slightly too long IMO by about 30 minutes.

Overall I would say it's an average film.

None of these foretold disasters will be as dramatic as predicted. I always think its funny when people say well they predicted this and it happened, yeah but they predict thousands of other things and they don't happen.

Watch, everyone is going to being stupider than a mother****er on 2012. They will be so paronoid that one slight thing happens (rain for example) they will run for their lives. The least that we should expect is a terroist attack because something like that was predicted before. (you know what I mean) So all you have to do is keep your prayers up and then there won't be no terroist attack because there sure enough won't be any natural disaster.

Dude I went to Mexico in the summer and they (the mayans) weren't totally stupid (arguably they predicted the moon landings etc.)

I didn't see the movie but I can tell it sucked. When I was done watching Precious (a movie a thousand times better then 2012), I waited for my dad to watch 2012 because I didn't feel like watching it. If the Mayans can predict the world was going to end, I predicted that this movie would suck. I stared at the doors of the 2012 theatre waiting for my dad to finish watching and I laughed as people came out of the movie 40 minutes before it was over shaking their heads in disapointment. I continued to laugh when the rest of the crowd come out of the theatre when the movie was over because I studied the crowd. Whenever they turn to their right to walk they always look to the left and I laughed so ****ing hard because every single person was doing that. That's besides the point. Anyhow, my dad even said it wasn't as good as expect and my mom who watched the film from bootleg DVD said it sucked as well. I knew it would be some kind of A Day After Tommorow Part 2. I didn't even like the first one to begin with. The only one who said it didn't suck was my friend.

Whoever watches movies for the sake of ONLY special effects are stupid.
