We got word today of a new art show opening in San Francisco on December 9th. “Art of Prince” will feature works by Anthony Malzone, whose designs have been featured extensively on Prince’s websitehttp://i.ixnp.com/images/v6.15/t.gif (http://lotusflow3r.com), as well as the poster for Prince’s August 2009 show in Monaco.
All of the prints in the show are limited-edition, numbered and signed by the artist. The show will be at the San Francisco Art Exchange in Union Square.

The exhibition opens December 9, with a public reception on December 11. Lotusflow3r members will be able to purchase Malzone’s art at a discount.

A hater is a person who constantly insults a person and barely says anything nice or positive. A critic says one good thing and one bad thing in all of his/her reviews. All I've seen is hate from this about how it's all about the money (untrue) and how he's selling out his fans (untrue) and how he's a has-been. (untrue). Why bother sign up for a site just to call Prince delusional. It's bullshit. This especially happeneds on the org too. It's like being a guest at a person's house and trashing it later. Update On The Art Of Prince

We got an update from someone who called the gallery who will be hosting The Art of Prince (http://www.drfunkenberry.com/2009/11/16/art-of-prince/)event that will take place in San Francisco in early December.

He even found out the price of the Prince prints. Want to find out? Plus, we had the artist send us some exclusive info!

When the person called they found this information that I guess is public;
The Prince prints will be going for about $1,000 dollars a piece and there will be a 100 only of each print.

Now, keep in mind, these prints appear to be limited and will also be signed by the artist, Anthony Malzone, and may not be something you are going to find just anywhere. In all honesty, events like these are more for art collectors and say people who collect art of musicians more so than say your average fan, so it is understandable.

Maybe they will have postcards like a gallery did in New York a couple of years ago that featured photos of Prince right before he was releasing records. A great girl sent me some of those postcards a couple of years ago and that was really cool of her.

For those that may not be able to afford the $1,000 dollar artwork, we hear from a funkenbaby in Minnesota that Prince’s latest 3 cd set Lotusflower Lotusflow3r will be sold at Target the day after Thanksgiving for $6.50 and I think it would make a pretty good stocking stuffer.

There will be a 100 of each print and each a $1,000. A lot of stuff is up in the air but when we find out, I will let you know.
Hmm. I wonder with the Cd’s being so low, will Prince get back in the top 10 or maybe hit number 1 this time around? Oh wait. That means Billboard would actually have to count ALL the CD sales this time. Soundscam indeed.-Dr.FB

P.S. Anthony, if you find an extra hanging around after the exhibit, give me a call. It would look great on one of my walls. Just playing.

UPDATE: We got some information straight from the source and I wanted to share. Anthony Malzone let us know that artwork is Officially endorsed by Prince and he had a lot of creative input on the pieces of artwork. His keen eye for art helped Anthony’s artwork become stronger.

Anthony could not confirm the prices that SFAE told us earlier but wanted it to be known that fans of Prince’s official sitehttp://i.ixnp.com/images/v6.16/t.gif (http://www.lotusflow3r.com) will get a pretty good discount on the prices of the artwork.
