Hollywood, CA (June 18, 2007)- Pop music icon Prince will be taking up residency and bringing “3121” exclusively to Thompson Hotels’ Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel this summer, presented by Verizon Wireless. For possibly the last time in Los Angeles, the royal purple carpet will be rolled out for his Hollywood homecoming and the artist has chosen the legendary hotel for seven exclusive, intimate performances commencing Saturday, June 23rd, 2007.

Reminiscent to Prince’s legendary after hours parties in his Beverly Hills home, a select audience of 200 friends and fans will have an incredible opportunity to witness Prince firsthand in Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel’s Blossom Room, home of the first Academy Awards. Known for his spontaneity, Prince has frequently invited musicians onstage for impromptu performances. Past surprise guests have included Sir Elton John, Will.I.Am, Kelis, Sheila E., Herbie Hancock , Maroon 5 and more.

The evening will begin at the Dakota restaurant with Prince’s personal chef Lena Morgan presenting a VIP dinner, taking over the kitchen from executive chef Tim Goodell. Then the 130 special guests, along with another 70 standing room only attendees, will be welcomed into the Blossom Room for a musical performance like no other. Following every two-hour performance, fans can experience a late-night impromptu jazz set presided over by Prince.

VIP packages, including dinner at the Dakota (tax, alcohol, and gratuity excluded), will be limited to 130 seats, sold in pairs (65) for $3121.00. An additional 70, standing room only tickets will be made available for $312.10 each.

Prince announces rare LA residency

He'll play seven nights at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel



Prince (http://www.nme.com/artists/prince) has announced the details of a rare Los Angeles residency.

Beginning this Saturday (June 23), the purple one will perform seven shows he has dubbed the '3121 Sessions' at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel's 200-seat Blossom Room.

Prince (http://www.nme.com/artists/prince) is expected to preview new material from his forthcoming album, 'Planet Earth', and invite special guests on stage to perform with him. Previous guests have included Elton John (http://www.nme.com/artists/elton-john), Maroon 5 (http://www.nme.com/artists/maroon-5) and William (http://www.nme.com/artists/william).

The evening will also include dinner in the hotel's Dakota restaurant prepared by Prince (http://www.nme.com/artists/prince)'s personal chef. It will continue with Prince (http://www.nme.com/artists/prince)'s two-hour performance, and conclude with a late-night jazz set featuring Prince (http://www.nme.com/artists/prince) and a jazz band.

A limited number of tickets will be sold at $3,121 per couple for VIP packages, and $312.10 for standing-room only tickets.

Prince Checks Into L.A. Hotel For Intimate Gigs

As expected, Prince will take up residency for seven intimate concerts at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel in Los Angeles, starting June 23. Verizon Wireless has signed on as presenter of the gigs.

Prince will perform two-hour sets for select audiences of 200 people at the hotel's Blossom Room. Following each show, the singer is expected to play late-night impromptu sets with his jazz band. Along with June 23, confirmed dates thus far are June 24 and 28-30.

With a price tag matching Prince's latest album title, "3121," 70 standing-room-only tickets will cost $312.10 for each show. The remaining 130 seats will be sold in pairs as VIP packages, offering fans dinner and seated show access for $3,121. The concerts will feature new music from Prince's July 24 Columbia release, "Planet Earth," including the first single, "Guitar." Audience members will have the opportunity to download "Guitar" at the show for free via Verizon Wireless' V Cast Song ID technology.

As previously reported, Prince has also committed to 21 dates in London this summer. The Earth Tour begins Aug. 1 with seven dates at AEG's 20,000-seat 02 Arena.

A good Friend of HotelChatter, who is a bit naive in thinking that she will actually be able to acquire these coveted tickets without any sort of celebrity attachment, emailed her request for Prince tickets yesterday. We're live on the scene with her story.

But our sweet-natured FOHC wrote back all the info immediately last night at 5pm PST. As of today, she still hasn't heard back from anyone. For all she knows some robot has her credit card information and is charging up a fortune at Best Buy.
