So, the iTunes homepage is now featuring this nifty little Live Earth playlist “packed with a hot track from every artist on the bill” according to the accompanying blurb. In addition to songs from Madonna (http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/madonna) and the Chili Peppers (http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/redhotchilipeppers), curiously, “Purple Rain” is track four. The funny part? Prince (http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/prince) hasn’t been announced for the event. Our theory: Organizers have mistakenly leaked one of their “surprise headliners.” The singer, whose album Planet Earth comes out July 24, would add a little oomph to the New York lineup, which includes The Police (http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/thepolice) and Kanye West (http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/kanyewest), but kinda drops off after that.
