That's just it RMK - hardly anyone but the hardest of hardcore fans have heard it yet.... give us a chance to listen to the album a few times in it's entirety first..then we'll comment....:)

I'm on my 3rd listen and so far the track that's really grabbed me is Chelsea Rodgers.

I love it.
Planet earth, Guitar, Somewhere here on Earth, Mr Goodnight and Chelsea Rogers are the top tunes but they are all good!
Anyone else feel like Planet Earth is a bit like a David Bowie tune?

Funny that, played it c'3-4 times today and then slammed a Bowie album on coz i thought the same, what Bowie track u thinking of?
Yep thank god for the title track "Planet Earth" brilliant, something to get your head into, Prince top tune, Guitar , The One U Wanna C cool, not sure about Somewhere here on Earth my foot sortta gets in2 it but my head thinks its a sortta "Guilty Pleasure", Future Baby Mama and Mr Goodnight reminds me of c Emancipation - Rave aka Prince R n B by numbers,
All The Midnights In The World errrr throwaway ... sorry folks just my opinion
Chelsea Rodgers classic old skool disco funk Prince knows this stuff inside out
Lion Of Judah not a classic but give this some time
Resolution odd one with simplistic lyrics doesn't grab me
Hey its only the first day listening this in its' entireity
All in all another pop album like the last two, aka pick n mix, something for everyone.
Compile a Best of these albums and U got a cool album, alongside these albums more diverse projects like Rainbow Children and NEWS please.

Just looked at the reviews on the Org track by track offering diverse opinions by all, it goes to show that Prince oodles talent and what fascinates some dulls others n vice versa.
Wonder how many of these tunes will be performed live?
You know the rest !

My quick review....
1.PLANET EARTH
Thank god Great opener, strong song very promising, nod and a wink to 70’s prog rock, record to get wrapped into
2. GUITAR
What can u say, sounds very now!!! indie bands stadium anthemic stuff
3. SOMEWHERE HERE ON EARTH
God 3rd track in and another different tune, sortta heard this P stuff before, but very reminiscent and very much a tribute to Trumpet player Miles Davis and many other soulful stuff, very musso with loads of instrumentation, must have been fun mixing this down!!!!
4. THE ONE U WANNA C
Mmmmmm, didn’t think it could last, this one is certainly testing, “whats wrong with your left foot”, cant help it, one u don’t wanna but u will maybe a guilty pleasure. The one u wanna not like but probably will!!!! I think the “country” style references are my problem, cant help my left foot moving!!! what next?
5. FUTURE BABY MAMA
Mmmmmm heard this before but for those who haven’t and loved P in the 80’s for this slush will simply love this, as usual meticulously recorded
6.MR GOOD NIGHT
Tried this sortta stuff before with not great effect, always thought leave it 2 others; hippers hoppers rappers, but is it me or?, sounds like its of its time
7. ALL THE MIDNIGHTS IN THE WORLD
Definately a piano / song appreciated song
8. CHELSEA RODGERS
Yep reminds me of early stuff that easily could be mixed with some of his 80’s funk stuff, dance around your handbag
9. LION OF JUDAH
?
10. RESOLUTION
What could of made this track is his slick toungue n cheek lyric of past, the straight forward lyrical style is the obvious downfall, for a tune with a simplistic style in needed something.
Overall
Could refer 2 this one as a part of a trilogy, a pop album like the last 2: Musicology. 3121, has a bit of this and a bit of that, something for every one, unlike the experimental genious of albums Rainbow Children and NEWS, but if the focus of the latter two are not for you uh wheres the funk? Pop? The songs?
Here it is a Pick n Mix guaranteed there will be something for everyone but that’s it, there is something you also couldn’t care for. Maybe a calculated move but with all the concerts up and coming, there are a fair few numbers here that are gonna work well live, those who know …. know.
So generally a thumbs up but give us some of those concept albums alongside these traditional pop. When an artist is truly an “artist” and takes you into territories experimental new and challenging some of us just simply want more. Thankyou P

All good apart from Somewhere Here On Earth and Mr Goodnight, maybe they'll grow
on me. While liking Chealsea Rodgers i dont see how the majority of reviewers have it
as a stand out track but then thats only my opinion. All in all - 9/10:peace:

Eye love this album it really shows Prince's ability 2 b a multifaceted artist. Bcause truly Musicology was an ode 2 funk, and 3121 was xperimental 4 the most part unlike Planet Earth which is truly a complete album.
Eye truly love all the tracks and Chelsea Rodgers forces u 2 get up & dance, however Future Baby Mama is so sensual that it stands out 4 me. Planet Earth is truly an awakening track 2 2day's world. Somewhere Here On Earth reminds of Prince's earlier work it is really beautiful.

Hey :)
For me not quite as good as 3121 but overall i really like it!. The thing i was crying out for for a long time was a truly eclectic album.... and i think we have had 2 good ones in 3121 and Planet Earth.
From my perspective as someone who plays his material, its nice to have more songs on the last 2 albums ide like to play live than the previous 5! That must say something!
I think if he keeps releasing multiflavoured albums we will have good stuff for years to come.

Yup, loved PFunk.... would love even more to here a structered version released as a single inspite of what the political undertones were from prince!
