Sad to hear today that Gav and our friends at MoQuake are to close end of September...

"With regret, the decision has been taken to close the MoQuake website at the end of September 2011.

As most of you are aware, the primary purpose of MoQuake whilst it's been in existence has been to attempt to close the gap between the Prince fan community and "official sources" to at least attempt to gain acknowledgement and recognition in line with other artists.

Whilst at times we've appeared to be successful (for example being the only Prince fan community EVER to gain admittance for its members to go backstage), this has only been sporadic and has been extremely challenging and painful. Going forward, it's very clear that Prince wishes to converse less with fans and in fact has chosen to deliver his "news" via celebrity gossip columns and to the wider international press.

To be fair to Prince's organisation, at times they have showed willing (such as for the aforementioned backstage competition), however due to very negative feedback by someone accompanying one of the lucky winners, the desire to repeat the event has sunk into non existence. In addition, not once have we received a threat or an instruction to remove material.

With other forums now catering for the community such as prince.org (http://prince.org/), and Dr Funkenberry acting as Prince's mouthpiece, we feel as a team that it's now time to gracefully step back and take a break. Traffic on MoQuake has significantly dwindled over the last couple of months so this hopefully won't make too much of a difference to the community, however we do appreciate that people may wish to copy information and for that reason we will not be closing immediately but will remain open for just over a month.

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the MoQuake team - Jerome, Pat, gsh, Tim, Dansa, jooZt and of course the talented "Reverend" who not only designed the graphic concept but also some of the great news photos. The team have all attempted to not only recreate the vibe of the original HouseQuake website but also to try and keep this all about the music and not devolve into just another chit chat forum - something that's always been the aim.

Of course along the way we've had some great times and they won't be forgotten, but "all good things they say never last".

We will probably be keeping the Twitter feed and Facebook page alive for some time longer so if there is anything that we feel should be passed on then we will via those methods. Thank you to every member and lurker who's kept MoQuake alive over the last year."

The lack of common sense and blatant disregard for the loyalty shown to fans world wide....might have something to to with the mass exodus...:(
