PRINCE cancelled plans to appear in an episode of THE SIMPSONS, because creator Matt Groening wouldn't agree to a script written by the pop star's chauffeur. The Purple Rain hitmaker was set to follow Michael Jackson, Sir Paul MCCartney (http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/prince%20axed%20simpsons%20slot%20over%20chauffeur %20script%20row_1030008#) and the Rolling Stones, who have all made guest appearance on the animated hit. But pulled out of the show at the very last minute. Groening tells the New York Daily News (http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/prince%20axed%20simpsons%20slot%20over%20chauffeur %20script%20row_1030008#), "Prince wanted to do the show, so we wrote him a script. It didn't work out, because his chauffeur had written a script too, and Prince wanted to use that one."

Do we assume that this was the one featuring 'My Name Is Bart'?

Any further info?

I don't think so Madhouse. The "My Name Is Bart" thing was years ago. This is something more recent.
