Prince to launch perfume

The news comes hot on the heels of his tour announcement

Prince (http://www.nme.com/artists/prince) is set to launch his own perfume.

The name of the fragrance, 3121, is also the name of his last studio album, which was released in 2006.

According to official site 3121perfume.com (http://www.3121perfume.com/), it's described as "a kaleidoscope of rich florals...Xquisite (sic), Mysterious, Xotic (sic)".

The perfume is set to go on sale on July 7.

The diminutive star follows in the steps of Christina Aguilera (http://www.nme.com/artists/christina-aguilera) who also announced this week that she was launching a fragrance called 'Simply Christina Aguilera'.

As previously reported (http://www.nme.com/news/prince/28197) Prince (http://www.nme.com/artists/prince) will perform in London this summer for 21 nights, kicking off with seven shows at the 02 Arena on August 1, 3, 4, 7, 10, 11 and 14 as part of the Earth Tour.

i've heard a few girls who bought/tried it say some very uncomplimentary things about it. most of the comments suggest that it's the kind of scent that someones granny would wear, like something from avon

i've not heard of any high street stores stocking it. it probably won't be long until it's sold off at $5 a bottle at cellys and online. thats how much they were selling get wild for a few years ago to clear stock
